James B. Bullard
James B. Bullard President & CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank Of St. Louis, he oversees the activities of the Eighth Federal Reserve District. He also participates on the Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) which meets eight times each year to set the direction of U.S. monetary policy.

Jeffrey M. Lacker
Jeffrey M. Lacker serves as President & CEO of the Federal Open Market Committee, which conducts monetary policy for the Federal Reserve. Prior to his appointment, Lacker was a senior vice President and the director of research for the Richmond Fed, a position he assumed in 1999. Lacker joined the Bank in 1989 as an economist, was named a research officer in 1994 and was promoted to vice President in 1996.

Jerome H. Powell
Jerome H. Powell took office as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on February 5, 2018, for a four-year term. Mr. Powell also serves as Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the System's principal monetary policymaking body. Mr. Powell has served as a member of the Board of Governors since taking office on May 25, 2012, to fill an unexpired term. He was reappointed to the Board and sworn in on June 16, 2014, for a term ending January 31, 2028. Prior to his appointment to the Board, Mr. Powell was a visiting scholar at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, D.C., where he focused on federal and state fiscal issues. Mr. Powell served as an Assistant Secretary and as Undersecretary of the Treasury under President George H.W. Bush, with responsibility for policy on financial institutions, the Treasury debt market, and related areas.

JGB
Japanese Government Bond - JGB. A bond issued by the government of Japan. The government pays interest on the bond until the maturity date. At the maturity date, the full price of the bond is returned to the bondholder. Japanese government bonds play a key role in the financial securities market in Japan.

Jobless Claims
The number of people who file for unemployment benefits in a given week. This data is collected by the Department of Labor, and published as a weekly report. The number of jobless claims is used as a measure of the health of the job market, as a series of increases indicates that there are fewer people being hired.

John C. Williams
John C. Williams took office as President & CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on June 18, 2018. In this role, he serves on the Federal Open Market Committee. Prior to his appointment as President & CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, John C. Williams served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco from March 1, 2011 to June 17, 2018.Williams began his career in 1994 as an economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee.

JOLT
Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey - A survey done by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics to help measure job vacancies. It collects data from employers including retailers, manufacturers and different offices each month. Respondents to the survey answer quantitative and qualitative questions about their businesses' employment, job openings, recruitment, hires and separations. The JOLTS data is published monthly and by region and industry.

JPY
JPY is the three-character currency abbreviation for the Japanese Yen based on the ISO-4217 standard codes. JPY is the official currency of Japan.
