IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism
The Investor's Business Daily (IBD) TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics (TIPP) Economic Optimism Index measures the mood of consumers in regard to economic conditions. It produces polls on a wide range of economic, political and social issues.

The official index of the Spanish Continuous Market, which is comprised of the 35 most liquid stocks traded on the market. The Sociedad de Bolsas publishes the index.

IFO Index
The IFO Business Climate is a widely observed early indicator for economic development in Germany. The IFO Business Climate Index is published monthly. The IFO surveys over 7,000 companies in Germany to obtain their opinion of the current business situation and asks them to quantify their response by selecting good, satisfactory, or poor and provide their expectations for the future business climate using the same criteria. The index measures the changes in business confidence and is an early indicator for economic development in Germany. It shows whether business spending and capital investment is likely to increase or decrease. The indicator is a leading indicator of future business activity, however it asks respondents about expected business activities, which may not actually occur.

Import Price Index (Import Prices)
An import price index measures changes in the prices of imports of merchandise into a country. The index numbers for each reference period relate to prices of imports landed into the country during the period.

Inflation
The rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is rising, and, subsequently, purchasing power is falling.

Interest-Only Mortgage
An interest-only mortgage is a loan with scheduled payments that require you to pay only the interest for a specified amount of time.
The amount that you owe on the loan does not go down with each payment. Once the interest-only period ends, you may have several options:
Paying off the loan balance all at onceRefinancing the mortgage loan, if refinancing is availableBeginning to pay off the balance in monthly payments which are higher than the interest-only payments

ISM Manufacturing
An index based on surveys of more than 300 manufacturing firms by the Institute of Supply Management. The ISM Manufacturing Index monitors employment, production inventories, new orders and supplier deliveries. A composite diffusion index is created that monitors conditions in national manufacturing based on the data from these surveys.

ISM NY
Institute for Supply Management. A non-profit association whose focus is to aid the purchasing and supply management professions. Founded in 1913 as the New York Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), it changed its name to the Institute for Supply Management in 2001 to recognize individuals whose roles have expanded. It is based in Tempe, Arizona and offers educational products and programs to individuals in these fields. It produces a monthly publication called "Inside Supply Management" which forecasts economic trends in the manufacturing and nonmanufacturing sectors.

ISM Prices Paid
The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Manufacturing Index shows business conditions in the US manufacturing sector, taking into account expectations for future production, new orders, inventories, employment and deliveries. It is a significant indicator of the overall economic condition in US. The ISM prices Paid represents business sentiment regarding future inflation. A high reading is seen as positive for the USD, while a low reading is seen as negative.
